Loved the food there the last two times. I am looking forward to Christmas turkey dinner Sat, 12-25. Is a reservation required? Helpful?

        • Jack Emmons says:

          Hi Ray,
We look forward to seeing you at Mitzel’s on Christmas Day. No need for reservations, but we will be very busy. It is best to call about 30 minutes before your arrival time so they can put you on the list.

Hi, we’re coming to Christmas dinner at 1:00pm. I can see from your web page that you’re next to Holiday Inn, but for the life of me I can’t see an address anywhere, or a map. Don’t you think the address should be a rather prominent item on the web page? I saw the helpful note above about calling about 30 minutes before arrival to get put on the list. Thanks for being open, and we’ll see you tomorrow! –Bob Young

Hi Jack, Last friday night my wife and I and a friend on our way shopping stopped in for dinner. We havent been to Mitzels in a long time, we all left pleasently stuffed. My wife ordered the Roast Turkey sandwich and hasent stopped talking about it since. She loved it so much she is on her way to get another one for dinner tonight. Thank You Lanny Zentner

    • Jack Emmons says:

      Lanny,
I am so happy that you stopped in for dinner on Friday night with your wife and friend. The Roast Turkey sandwich is a great choice as the turkey is prepared on the rotisserie that you see in the lobby.

Tell your wife we are glad to be her new favorite place for a turkey sandwich!

      Take care,

      Jack Emmons

We were in Kent this last weekend for my daughters’ fastpitch tournament and when we were checking the GPS for a place I found Mitzel’s. We live in Monroe, WA and there used to be one there many, many years ago. The food was always great and it was a very comfortable and home type atmosphere. My wife and I always loved it there. Why it closed, never knew, but very sad when it did. My expectations were high coming to this one, and my kids were too young to remember the Monroe one, and we were not disappointed at all. Menu has obviously changed a bit but the food was tremendous and the waitstaff was great! We are down in this area a couple times a year for softball, and if the moon and stars align and we get that break between both teams’ schedules, we will be stopping by again. Would love to see one open in Monroe again some day!

It’s so good to see that yu brought back all the favorites from the past. Being a km for many years and a server very recent at mitzels in fife, I hear Wat the guests say and miss. It’s heart breaking to not have dessert like we used to. The sales we missed out on t- day alone ie: whole turkeys ,pies , and etc. Was crucial. Great job jack. It feels like I helped build that company and for yu to bring it back is awesome. Thanks again. , Dan Simmons

Years back we used to go to Mitzels in Bellingham, WA and were so sorry that it’s no longer there. We always enjoyed our meals there and the atmosphere just had such a homey feel to it. Curious if your only location is in Kent, and/or if there’s any others in the Washington State?

  7. cindy says:

where do I find nutrition information for your Washington Restaurants?

  8. Katie says:

Hold the phone.. you serve your Toll House Pie again?? For years you didn’t.. is it available? If so, how much and can I order one?? :D

Also.. I’ve tried to figure this out before, but couldn’t get any answers. I believe an old family friend was pictured on your old menus. Is there a way to look through old menus and possibly obtain a copy? She has long since passed away and I would sure like to find out if it was her.

    Thank You.

I had great time at this place. A big reason is Mike the Bartender. He’s awesome! I’m looking forward to staying at the Holiday Inn in Kent and visiting Mike and the free Chicken tacos again!

Why is Mitzel’s in Kent closing its doors?

    • admin says:

Kent Mitzel’s is not closing it’s doors. Fife Mitzel’s lost their lease and will be closing on July 23rd after 20+ years in operation. We hope to see you in Kent soon!

  11. Phillip Torgerson says:

Jack, great job bringing mitzels back to where it was back in the day.
Having worked with you and Dan Simmons when the Tacoma location was open, I have fond memories of you both.
I can’t wait to stop by and have a great meal with a little nostalgia as well. Again, great job Jack and hope to see you again!

    • admin says:

      Hi Phil,
Great to hear from you again. We are spinning Turkeys on the Rotisserie and the bakery case is full of homemade desserts just like the old days. We just rolled out a homemade Cinnamon Roll with cream cheese frosting this week. We hope to see you in Kent soon!

It’s so nice to see that you brought back the favorites that disappeared from the menu!! I worked in Canyon Park and Everett for many combined years as a server/supervisor and miss it horribly. It was my second home/family…I met my husband of over 21 years now in Canyon Park, and carried all three of our children while working there. I sure wish one would open again near Arlington-Everett area, I would be there in a heart beat! Great job bringing back the classic favorites that had made Mitzel’s such a wonderful place to eat, and thank you for the wonderful memories that were created there :-)

My mom insisted on having her 93rd birthday dinner at Mitzel’s today as we did for her 92nd, 91st, etc. and after we got home I thought I would leave a comment here. We have celebrated many birthdays here over the last few years and we meet at least twice a month with family members here for dinner. Sometimes four of us make it and other times ten might make it. The staff is personable and very professional. But most important, the food is wonderful. With all the times we have eaten here we have never had a complaint about the food and the desserts are to die for. We like the wide range of food offered on the menu, being able to order breakfast or lunch any time of the day, and the consistancy of the food and service.

Thank you everyone at Mitzel’s! As you know, we’ll be back!

  14. Linda Marweg says:

My husband and I join family here at least 2 to 3 times a month. Love this place. The food and the service is always consistently good. Made reservations for valentines day this year. The one dining room was set up so romantic. White tableclothes, roses, candles, special menu with wine and dessert, and a jazz pianist vocalist to top it off. We were there for 3 hours eating and listening to the music. Best valentine day in a long time. Will make a reservation again next year.
